Reducing shading losses

One of the significant advantages of the Seraphim SIV series bifacial solar panels is their ability to minimize power losses caused by shading. By incorporating three diodes, the panels effectively bypass shaded areas, ensuring that only unshaded cells contribute to the overall power output. This intelligent design strategy significantly reduces energy loss compared to traditional solar panels, especially under partial shading conditions.

Here’s how the three diodes work:


Identification of Shaded Cells: The diodes detect which cells are shaded and determine the specific areas affected by shading.

Isolation of Shaded Areas: The diodes isolate the shaded cells from the rest of the panel, preventing them from dragging down the overall power output.


Maintenance of Uninterrupted Power Generation: Only unshaded cells contribute to the power generation, ensuring that the panel produces electricity efficiently despite partial shading.
