he Tesla Mid-Circuit Interrupter (MCI) devices provide essential rapid shutdown functionality for solar photovoltaic systems, meeting NEC Article 690 requirements. These devices integrate seamlessly with Powerwall systems to ensure rapid solar array shutdown during loss of AC power, enhancing safety for emergency responders and maintenance personnel.
The MCI series includes two models: MCI-1 supporting up to 600V DC systems and MCI-2 designed for 1000V DC applications. Both models feature passive state operation and line excitation control, allowing up to five devices per string while maintaining reliable shutdown capability with minimal power consumption.
